EPS Central Distinctions and Awards

The EPS promotes scientific excellence. The recognition of outstanding achievements in research, education and service to the EPS is an essential activity as a learned society. Such distinctions demonstrate the high regard of the physics community for the contributions by individual physicists.

EPS Achievement Award

The EPS Achievement Award, which recognizes service to EPS and contributions within EPS divisions, is discontinued as it overlaps with the EPS Gero Thomas Medal. Going forward, the Gero Thomas Medal will remain the sole award for recognizing exceptional service to EPS.
