Physics Teaching in Engineering Education (PTEE) is an international, scientific conference, that offers an opportunity to meet peer, to gather, to discuss current issues, to learn from each other, to share experiences and to envision collaboration. A goal is to create and strengthen a European network of contacts in the field.

It is aimed at Physics faculty, staff, teachers, students and PhD-students interested in the field of physics teaching for engineers and educational design, and especially for researchers in the field of Physics Education or close STEM-fields and cognitive science.

In the recent past, the field of ultrafast phenomena has moved ahead in a breathtaking fashion, thanks in part, to the development of new laser-based as well as accelerator-based sources of ultrashort pulses of electrons and light, such as high-harmonic generation, few-cycle optical pulses, sources of short wavelength radiation such as x-ray free electron lasers. The spectral range of ultrashort pulses of radiation has been extended to the long wavelength range such as Terahertz radiation, and the short wavelength range such as vacuum-ultraviolet and the soft and hard X-ray domains. Together with the development of new methodologies, e.g., multidimensional spectroscopies, THz spectroscopy, electron-based (EELS, PINEM, UED, etc.) and X-ray-based techniques such as serial femtosecond coherent diffractive imaging, these great leaps forward are delivering an impressive degree of insight into phenomena both within atoms and between atoms and up in scale to macromolecular systems.

At the same time, the flexibility in methodologies opens perspectives for major applications in the fields of solar energy, molecular electronics, optoelectronic devices, biomimetic devices, etc. Finally, all this is accompanied by an improvement in theoretical models, strongly supported by the increase in computational power, which are indispensable for our understanding of phenomena on such ultrafast time scales.

Besides the formal presentations of scientific papers, a Summer School on Physics of Ionized Gases is always organized as a part of the SPIG conference. The aim of the School is to encourage young scientists to present their scientific, and especially, Ph.D. results in a forum that includes some of the world's leading experts in their particular fields. Thus, SPIG offers a chance for the exchange of a wide range of important technical information that is useful to all participants.Although the number of international conferences on this and similar topics is growing and the competition between conferences is strong, SPIG has had enviable success in attracting a large number of scientists to Yugoslavia every two years.

The SPIG conferences are always organized by one of the major laboratories in Serbia and Montenegro (former Yugoslavia), but it is international in character with an international scientific committee and a large number of invited speakers from all around the world. Most of the leading scientists in the fields related to SPIG have attended the conference at some stage. The tendency for the conference is to become a regional (Balkan and mid -European) center for this field of science, as it serves the purpose of connecting large body of scientists that have limited funds for attending conferences worldwide with the leading researchers in the fields of the conference and thus it helps maintain international scientific standards in the region. SPIG is held every two years and in the recent years typical number of participants was 150-200 including 30 invited speakers and 10 progress reports. Approximately 50% of participants are from a large number of different countries, mostly European and from Japan.

NPA-XI is part of a series of conferences taking place every two years, under the auspices of the Nuclear Physics Board of the European Physical Society.

NPA-XI will take place from 15 - 20 September 2024 at TU Dresden, Germany. The conference will be preceded by a scientific school, the NPA-XI school, in the week of 8-13 September.

This series of meetings is organized by the Liquids Section of the Condensed Matter Division of the European Physical Society.

The aim of the conference is to bring together scientists working on the liquid state of matter. This rapidly growing field includes the physics, chemistry, biology, and chemical engineering of liquid matter as well as various applied research areas in the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries.

The conference will consist of plenary lectures, topical symposia with keynote lectures and contributed oral presentations, and poster sessions. The plenary and keynote lectures will be streamed. All speakers will be on site.
