The object of the Division shall be to assist the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in nuclear physics, which we define as the study of nuclei, their structure, disintegration, interactions and other properties and including the constituent parts of the nucleus and their interactions with one another and with nuclei and with the atomic environment. Founded in 1998, the Division of Statistical and Nonlinear Physics (SNPD) is part of the European Physical Society (EPS). Its main mission is to facilitate contacts between scientists through the organisation of meetings, conferences, workshops, etc. To this end, it supports and co-ordinates research activites in nonlinear and statistical physics, as well as interdisciplinary research activities in complex systems.
