National educational resources

EPS Member Societies represent physics communities in 42 European countries. Among their activities, they develop and pilot activities in physics education. To provide visibility and encourage the exchange of ideas and best practice, some of their activities can be found below.

France

Among its actvities, the Société Française de Physique (SFP) organises the "Olympiades de Physique France" and has a commission that studies issues related to physics teaching and education. This commission publishes information relating to physics education in France.

Italy

The Società Italiana di Fisica (SIF) organises event and grants that are of particular interest to university physics students and young scientists. These include grant programmes and summer schools at the International School of Physics (Varenna, IT).

United Kingdom

The Institute of Physics (IoP - UK) is very active in developing programmes for pre-university students and teachers as well as university physics students. The IoP also publishes on a regular basis guides and studies that provide information and advice for teachers and students at all levels. In 2011 for example, the IoP published "Moving on: The PhD Physics Student's Guide to employability".
