Nominations open for prizes of the Quantum Electronics and Optics division

The Quantum Electronics and Optics division [QEOD] of the European Physical Society [EPS] is presently soliciting nominations for their biennial prizes to be presented at the  CLEO/Europe-IQEC meeting, which will be held in Munich, Germany, from 12-16 May 2013. 


These prizes are now well-established as leading European awards in both fundamental and applied quantum electronics and optics.

 

Nominations for the following prizes are to be received online by 4 March 2013 at the latest.

 

The EPS Quantum Electronics Prizes

These are the two senior EPS/QEOD prizes awarded for outstanding contributions to quantum electronics and optics.
There is one prize for fundamental aspects and one prize for applied aspects.

 

The Fresnel Prizes

These are the two EPS/QEOD prizes awarded for outstanding contributions to quantum electronics and optics made by young scientists before the age of 35. 
There is one prize for fundamental aspects and one prize for applied aspects.

 

The EPS QEOD Thesis Prizes

Up to four EPS/QEOD prizes will be awarded to reward excellence in PhD research and scientific communication in the area of quantum electronics and optics relating to PhD thesis work examined in the period April 2011-March 2013. 

These prizes will be awarded for fundamental and for applied aspects.
