The 9th International Workshop on Nanoscale Pattern formation at Surfaces,"Nanopatterning2017" and the new workshop on Formation of 3D nanostructures by ion beams, "FOR3NANO" will be held June 26 -- 30, 2017 in Helsinki, Finland.

The Nanopatterning meeting is dedicated to research on novel methods and applications of self-organized nanopattern production at surfaces such as miniaturization, flat surface growth, or periodic nanostructure production either by growth or erosion techniques. It will be held from Monday, June 26 to Wednesday, June 28.

The FOR3NANO meeting will discuss scientific advances on how ion beams can be used to synthesize and modify individual nanostructures and their arrays. It will start on Wednesday, June 28 with a joint session of both workshops Nanopatterning&FOR3NANO, and proceed until Friday, June 30.

As an option, registration to both workshops will also be available.

The workshops will be held during midsummer time, famous in Northern Europe for the beautiful white nights. This will be an excellent opportunity to experience Nordic summer at its best and meet together in the mild and soft climate (daytime is between 20 and 25 degrees C, nights are a few degrees cooler) and discuss the latest achievements and developments in the related topics.

The conference will be held in the historic main building of the University of Helsinki, located in the downtown of Helsinki, near the main harbour and historic main square. There are numerous hotels, restaurants and hostels within walking distance. Helsinki will welcome you with a pleasant and friendly atmosphere.

You are invited to visit the workshop webpages for additional information.
