This Symposium is the 15th in a series of technical meetings
dealing with ionizing radiation and its applications that began in 1964
and has subsequently been held at intervals of every four to five years.
The most recent in this series was held in 2010 on the University of
Michigan campus (SORMA XIII) and in 2012 at Oakland (SORMA XIV), with a
program that included over 500 presentations in both oral and poster
format. Its focus has expanded over the decades to include the breadth
of ionizing radiation measurement applications and technologies.
