This is the fourth conference in the new IPAC series, combining the previous regional accelerator conferences held in Asia, Europe and North America into an international series.
In 2013 IPAC returns to Asia, having since 2010 made one complete turn through Kyoto, Japan, San Sebastian, Spain and New Orleans, USA.

IPAC'13 is sponsored by the Asian Committee for Future Accelerators (ACFA), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the Chinese Particle Accelerator Society (CPAS), the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the Shanghai Municipal Government (SMG), the Institute of High Energy Physics, Beijing (IHEP), the Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics (SINAP).

IPAC'13 will provide an opportunity for Accelerator Scientists, Engineers, Students and Industrial Vendors to meet and interact in a convivial environment, encouraging the exchange of information and ideas across the broad spectrum of accelerator science and technology.

Shanghai is situated on the banks of the Yangtze River Delta in Eastern China. With a history of more than 700 years, Shanghai is one of the largest cities in terms of population with over 20 million people in its metropolitan area. The city is an emerging tourist destination renowned for its historical landmarks such as the Shanghai World Financial Center, the Jin Mao Building, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Bund and Lujiazui financial centre. A very attractive facet of Shanghai is that Western and Eastern cultures co-exist in the metropolis. One can appreciate European architecture on hustling avenues as well as local residency in the quite backstreets.

The Scientific Programme Committee (SPC), is chaired by Chuang Zhang, IHEP Beijing. An exciting programme of invited oral presentations has been developed and is now published at the conference website, now on line here:
http://www.ipac13.org
together with much useful information. Please bookmark the site and check regularly for updates.

The local organization of IPAC'13 is the responsibility of SINAP, with Zhimin Dai in the chair and Qing Qin, as co-chair.

IPAC'13 will offer plenary sessions on the Monday and Friday, and on the Thursday afternoon. Invited and contributed oral presentations will take place in parallel during the rest of the week. The latter part of the afternoons, following the oral presentations, from Monday to Thursday, will be devoted entirely to poster sessions.

A special student poster session will take place during delegate registration on Sunday, 12 May. Students are encouraged to find out more about the student grant programme, and to apply to present their work in this special session.

An industrial exhibition will take place during the first three days of the conference, and a special session for industry is scheduled during the conference's scientific programme on Wednesday afternoon, 15 May. Booth reservation for exhibitors will soon be possible.

Prospective participants should take careful note of the deadlines for registration and reservation of accommodation, and in particular for abstract submission on Wednesday, 5 December, 2012 via JACoW's Scientific Programme Management System (SPMS) at: https://oraweb.cern.ch/pls/ipac2013/profile.html

Delegate registration will open in the coming months. Register before Wednesday 13 March, 2013 for early bird fees.
