divisions
The scientific activities of EPS are organised through Divisions and Groups. These include topical conferences, seminars and workshops.
Divisions and Groups also :
- provide independent expertise and advice upon request, as well as peer reviewers or referees for say the European Commission
- propose (in some cases organising) European Research Conferences in Physics
- propose speakers for major EPS conferences such as the EPS General Conference
- serve on editorial boards of publications
- develop outreach activities for students and the general public
- support measures to help physicists from the less-favoured regions of Europe participate in, and profit from, EPS initiatives.
Individual Members (IMs) of EPS can join any number of EPS Divisions or Interdivisional Groups. They need to inform the EPS Secretariat.
The Divisions and Groups are governed by boards elected from members and some Divisions have Sections representing focussed interests.
