ALICE week in GSI Helmholtz Centre:
First full jet measurement in Pb–Pb collisions with ALICE
The 2015 ALICE week outside CERN was hosted by the GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research in Darmstadt, Germany, from June 22 – 26.
In high-energy collisions, quarks and gluons occasionally scatter violently and produce correlated showers of particles, or "jets". In pp collisions, the rate of such scatters is precisely calculable using perturbative QCD.
Hard Probes 2015 hosted in Canada
The 7th edition of the Hard Probes International Conference series was hosted by McGill University in Montréal, Québec, Canada from 29 June to 3 July.
