A total of 40 national physical societies are EPS Member Societies. Their approximately 100,000 members and physicists can participate in EPS activities and can belong to EPS Divisions and Groups. Each member society's annual fee to EPS, as well as the number of copies of Europhysics News it receives for distribution to its members (except for Germany and the UK), is based on the number of its own members in various catagories (full member, student, etc.). Each society sends one Delegate to Council and many have representatives in specific EPS bodies.
