The EPS Solar Physics Division is a joint division with the EAS, where EPS Members and EAS Members collaborate in the organisation of conferences. The EPS and the EAS jointly propose policy initiatives.
The European Intergovernmental Research Organisations Forum (EIROForum) was created to play an active and constructive role in promoting European Science. The EPS is an observer on the Education and Outreach Working Group.
ESF Standing Committee for Physical and Engineering Sciences
The EPS is an observer on the European Science Foundation's [ESF] Standing Committee for Physical and Engineering Sciences [PESC]. PESC is a pan-European platform for innovative research and competitive new ideas while addressing societal issues in a more effective and sustainable manner.
The EPS is a member of the European Materials Forum [EMF]. The EMF is an independent and informal organization representing both public and private societies, companies and agencies committed to the scientific and technological development of Materials Science in Europe.
The EPS is a member of The Initiative for Science in Europe [ISE. ISE is an independent platform of European learned societies and scientific organizations whose aim is to promote mechanisms to support all fields of science at a European level, involve scientists in the design and implementation of European science policies, and to advocate strong independent scientific advice in European policy making.
The history of physics, its discoveries and scientists is fascinating and reminds us of the importance of physics for social, economic and cultural development of our civilisation. The EPS organises regular workshops and sponsors the European Centre for the History of Physics (ECHOPHYSICS) in Austria that organises seminars, lectures and exhibitions devoted to the history of physics.
