The EPS promotes scientific excellence. The recognition of outstanding achievements in research, education and service to the EPS is an essential activity as a learned society. Such distinctions demonstrate the high regard of the physics community for the contributions by individual physicists.
EPS EDISON VOLTA PRIZE
The European Physical Society has established the "EPS Edison Volta Prize" to promote excellent research and achievement in physics.
This distinction will be awarded to highlight noteworthy women physicists and to identify role models that will help to attract women to a career in physics.
The groups and divisions of the EPS award many of prestigious prizes honouring contributions for the advancement in physics research, education and outreach.
